- VBG at IAA Transportation 2026 4:32 # VBG at IAA Transportation 2026 IAA Transportation 2026 has come to an end, leaving us with valuable conversations, new perspectives and plenty of inspiration for what lies ahead. For VBG, the week in Hannover was an important opportunity to meet customers, partners, vehicle manufacturers and industry experts from across Europe. And among the many topics discussed, one stood out in particular: **High Capacity Transport (HCT)**. The need for more efficient and sustainable freight transport continues to shape our industry. How can we transport more goods while making better use of vehicles, infrastructure and resources? How will vehicle combinations evolve to meet these demands? And how do we ensure that increased capacity goes hand in hand with safety? These were questions at the heart of many of our conversations at IAA. ## More capacity,  with safety at the centre High Capacity Transport opens up new possibilities for moving more goods with each vehicle combination. But as combinations become longer and heavier, the demands on the complete vehicle system also change. For VBG, **safety is fundamental to this development**. Higher combination weights and new vehicle configurations put greater demands on the interaction between vehicles, components and systems. Stability, manoeuvrability, braking performance, loads and forces, as well as the connection between the units, all need to be considered. This makes the coupling equipment an important part of the overall picture. The connection between vehicles must perform reliably throughout demanding operating conditions and be correctly specified for the application. It is therefore not simply a question of making individual components stronger. It is about understanding how the complete vehicle combination works together and developing solutions that enable increased transport efficiency without compromising on safety. ## Strong interest in VBG Driver Assist Another highlight from the week was the strong interest in **VBG Driver Assist**. The solution attracted a great deal of attention at our stand and led to many interesting conversations with visitors. For us, this interest also reflects a broader development in the industry: as vehicle combinations evolve, technology that supports the driver and contributes to safer and more controlled vehicle operation becomes increasingly relevant. VBG Driver Assist is an example of how we are expanding our perspective beyond the coupling itself. By combining our knowledge of the connection between vehicles with intelligent technology, we can continue exploring new ways to support drivers and contribute to safer transport. The discussions and feedback we received at IAA were therefore especially valuable, and we look forward to continuing these conversations after Hannover. ![IAA\_2037](https://blog.vbg.eu/hs-fs/hubfs/IAA_2037.jpg?width=5788&height=3856&name=IAA_2037.jpg) ## Conversations that continue beyond Hannover One of the greatest values of IAA is bringing so many parts of the commercial vehicle industry together in one place. The exhibition gives us the opportunity to show our solutions, but equally important is the opportunity to listen. What are our customers preparing for? Which HCT configurations are gaining interest? What new challenges come with longer and heavier combinations? And how can technology help us improve efficiency while maintaining a strong focus on safety? The discussions we had in Hannover provided valuable perspectives on these questions and although IAA Transportation 2026 has closed its doors, those conversations continue. A big thank you to everyone who visited VBG during the week, shared their experiences and challenged us with new questions. We return from Hannover with new insights, new ideas and an even stronger motivation to contribute to the development of **safer, smarter and more efficient transport solutions**.
