FAQ

How do you know that a coupling has sufficient performance?

First of all, you must know that it is not just the coupling itself that must be sufficiently strong. All components in a coupling system must be sufficiently strong. The strength of a component is conveyed by the component’s certified performance value and is expressed in kN (kilonewtons). All parts of the coupling system must have performance values that equal – or exceed – the loads to which they are subjected during use.

The VBG Performance Value Calculator enables you to calculate the requisite performance values for your vehicle combination, and you can also check if your existing coupling equipment has adequate performance.
